COURSE CONTENT
EFFECTS OF SURVIVAL STRESS ON PERFORMANCE looks at the relationship of
survival stress and survivability. Survival stress can have a significant impact
on an officers combat performance.
CONTROL PRINCIPLES is an instructor development block on how to teach
attack management and subject control. Concepts include long term memory
retention, biomechanical control principles, relative positioning and motor
skills employment.
TACTICAL HANDCUFFING provides immediate subject control and reduces risk
of injury to the officer and the subject.
PRESSURE POINT CONTROL TACTICS provide maximum control with minimum
effort. As little as two pounds of finger touch pressure is needed. Effective no
matter the strength of the officer.
ESCORT POSITION AND JOINT LOCK CONTROL provides the officer the ability
to maintain control over subjects who have become uncooperative. The control can
transition into a handcuffing application.
DEFENSIVE COUNTERSTRIKES teaches reflexive reaction to a physical attack
using a strategy of blocks, punches and kicks. Used when impact weapons or
firearms are not appropriate or not available to the officer.
THE SHOULDER PIN RESTRAINT SYSTEM is an effective and safe vascular neck
restraint system which gives officers an alternative to the use of deadly force.
This is the only medically researched and approved neck restraint system in use
today. It is also a key component in ground fighting techniques that students
will learn.
IMPACT WEAPON & COLLAPSIBLE BATON SYSTEM is an effective system that
employs the use of nerve motor points as target areas. This reduces the
potential of creating connective tissue damage and bone fractures, thereby
decreasing liability.
WEAPON RETENTION & DISARMING teaches officers the skills and knowledge
necessary to deal with a suspect attempting to gain control of their weapon.
Officers will also be instructed in how to cope when they have a weapon pointed
at them.
GROUND FIGHTING teaches officers a reliable and simple defense for
situations when they find themselves fighting from the ground.
